Telemedicine

The Lakeview Family Health Team provides telemedicine services throught the Ontario Telemedicine Newwork (OTN).

Telemedicine uses technology to provide access to clinical health care in communities in Ontario at a distance.  A secure network porvides two way videoconferencing systems to connect the patient to health care professionals and specialists throughout Ontario.

In partnership with the Belleville Quinte Community Health Centre, the support of a registered nurse supports the appointment with the specialist or health care team.  The patient benefits from decreased travel time and costs associated with medical appointments outside the local area.

Three Types of Telemedicine

eCare

The videoconferencing equipment and support of the health care team provides individual appointments to best manage your health.

eConsult

The physicians and Nurse Proactitioners in the Family Health team utilize the consult service which allows your Provider to consult with specialists across the province.

eVisit

A telemedicine visit uses video conferencing and ther electronic equipment to allow you to access specialized care no matter where you live.  The referral is made by your primary care provider to arrange for you to see a specialist from anywhere in Ontario.
